It is impossible to be able to know every arcanic rune when you begin writing Cards. As a result, a student of Cards first learns the runes for a generic blast Card and the overall grammar and formatting of Cards. From there, each rank represents the study of a specific set of runes. The major rune sets are for damage, distance, duration, elements, nonphysical alteration, physical alteration, and size/shape. Round all SC costs to the nearest whole charge. The minimum cost of a Card is •10. In all equations, let x be equal to the number of times an effect is applied.

DamageEdit

The default damage is 1d6 for 1 SC cost and •15 on a Card.

ElementEdit

The default "element" is receptive to any local ley lines. Most of the time, this means that a spell is of neutral element, but in some regions it can be different.

Nonphysical and Physical AlterationEdit

Nonphysical and physical alterations are almost the same; the only difference between them is what they effect. Nonphysical alteration Cards can effect air, thoughts, emotions, energy, and anything else you cannot hold in your hands. Physical alteration Cards can effect anything you can hold in your hands, from wool to water and beyond. Examples of major effects would be changing something's entire shape, completely controlling another, or making a full-sensory illusion. A good rule of thumb is: if it can't be explained precisely in six words or less, or effects a character's abilities, it's a major effect. By default the Card will only affect whatever is within range that is of the object it's pasted to.

Size/ShapeEdit

The default size/shape is the shape of the object the Card is pasted onto. If the effect doesn't affect the object, then the default size/shape is a ball one yard in diameter.
